Leo Messi will start from the bench for tomorrow's 8pm match against Atlético Madrid. Gerardo Martino has full confidence in the Argentine star, now fully recovered, but will give the player a bit more breathing space.
Apart from Messi, 'Tata' is facing doubts in each line of his starting XI heading into tomorrow's tie at the Vicente Calderón.
Among the backs, all eyes are trained on the right flank spot, as it looks as though Jordi Alba could well be on the left wing. That leaves 'Tata' to choose between Alves, Montoya or Adriano.
His defensive dilemmas do not end there. To shore up the back line, he has the choice of Piqué, Mascherano, Bartra and Puyol. Although it looks likely that the first two will form the starting pairing to line up against Simeone's outfit.
Barça's 'petite' players are also waiting on the decisions to come from the coach. The Argentine is torn between Iniesta, Xavi and Cesc, a tricky one to resolve when it could affect the team's performance.
Up front, it remains to be seen whether Neymar will be fit to play. The Brazilian has now recovered from a bout of gastroenteritis, but has only played ten minutes in the last three games.
